Dr. Williams,

I believe we talked about this before...or it may have been about
splenomegaly? I have a siamese ferret who had a small growth removed
from the right hind quarter near her hip. Unfortunately, the biopsy was
lost in the mail to the lab..my vet had records of it being sent, the
lab never received it. Obviously we never finalized results. This was
unfortunate as I really have been pleased with our vet.

Now, approx. a year later, the same ferret has developed the same type
of growths on her right front shoulder, one near the middle of her back,
and it appears, another on her head. We are heading to the vet tomorrow.
The progression for these growths is as follows: start out looking almost
like a very small mole; she either scratches it or it erupts and forms a
scab; scab goes away and site appears to heal and disappear, then will
re-erupt. The sites dont seem to get bigger but will re-occur at the
same site.

I would assume our vet will want to biopsy again. Do you any info on
these "types" of growths assuming I've described it well enough. (They
are fairly small, about the size of the surface of a pencil eraser...
though that is pretty large considering ferret size!). Thanks for any
info,BTW, I tried sending this e-mail but it bounced.
