Hi X,
Yes, ferrets can get Salmonella and E.  coli.  Yes, bones can cause
problems.  We removed a chicken leg bone from a dog's large intestine last
week, and treated another dog this week for post chicken bone problems.
I would stick with cooked meats and cooked eggs as a supplement to their
regular food.
