1.Sponsor: Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) for the Pet Trust Bill
Summary: allows a charitable trust to be established to provide for
companion animals after their human caretaker dies.  This bill provides
for the continued well being of a companion animal and relieves society
of the financial buden of caring for orphaned animals.  This will allow
us to set up a charitable trust for our ferrets, cats, and dogs.

or her to co-sponsorH.R.1796.
 
2.Pet safety and Protection Act(S.668)
Sponsor is Sen. Daniel Akaka(D-HI) Closes a loophole in the Animal Welfare
Act that permits research labs to purchase cats and dogs from random
source dealers-like stolen pets, taking free to a good home animals, and
family companions.  Contact your Senators and ask that they co-sponsor
S.668 to help protect our family companions.
