The situation you described is exactly what I am trying to prevent.  Once
the girls figured out they could get under there, they quickly figured out
how to get up inside it, and have been banned from the kitchen ever since.
Many people have suggested a wood barrier, a few have suggested cage
wiring, but you are the first about the pavers.  I am going to have to
check that out as I feel safer using those instead of wood under the oven.
 
I will let you all know what we figure out!  Until then, they are still
banned from the kitchen.  Oh well.
