Connie, honestly, both Butch and Maggie sound like exploratory surgery
to check the adrenals for neoplasia should be done.  There are details
missing, but what you said sounds classically adrenal for each of them.
Meanwhile in case Butch's is that DO read the compilation about urinary
complications to adrenals in male ferrets in the Files section of the
Ferret Health List in Smartgroups in case you need to jump fast to save
his life at some point.
 
BTW, never forget that a year for ferrets is like 10 in humans.  A lot
changes in humans in 10 years, not to mention 15 years...
 
Usually, the best approach for adrenal growths (or for insulinoma as
well) is surgery.
