Yes, ferrets get tapeworms, but at the same time -- no, that does not
need to worry you (per an expert resource mentioned at the bottom of
this post).

(Heartworms are another matter since ferrets get them and they should
worry people and are a great reason to use a product like Revolution.)

Here is a past post from a ferret expert veterinary pathologist, Doctor
Bruce Williams on the topic which explains why they can get tapeworms
but also why that should not cause you to worry:
