I thought everyone might like this. It is an exerpt from the GREENlines
news group:

--------

GREENLines, Monday, September 21, 1998 from GREEN, the GrassRoots
Environmental Effectiveness Network, A project of Defenders of Wildlife

RELEASE THE FERRETS: AP reported 9/18 the Arizona Fish and Game Department
will release 25 black-footed ferrets into the grasslands of northwestern
Arizona. If successful, these captive-bred ferrets will be the first to
roam wild in Arizona since 1931. A 1996 reintroduction effort failed.
Decline of prairie dogs, the ferret's principle prey, and loss of habitat
contributed to the ferret's decline. The endangered ferret reintroduction
program has not been particularly controversial due to public-private
partnerships in establishing release sites.

Keep your fingers crossed!!
