All ferrets have a strange attraction to plastic bags.  The more "krinkly",
the better.  Do not even think about taking them away from your ferret.
What you can do to "ferret proof" the plastic bags you give them is to cut a
hole in the bottom of it.  It insures they do not suffocate, it allows them
to continue their plastic bag fettish, and it increases play time as they
have something new to run through.
 
I have had no problems with ferrets and plastic bags with this method of
ferret proofing.
