Good Morning Everyone,

We have 3 little baby ferts that are about 9 weeks old now. Our first two
came to us in Sept and were 2 1/2 & 3 mo old when we got them and we only
had a small amount of problems with pooping in the wrong places of the
cage. Now that they are free roam we hardly ever see an accident outside
the boxes in their room. Now the new babies are another story. They are
not free roam as of yet due to their small size. We let them out to free
roam when we are home but when we go to work or during the night they are
caged in a 3 story cage which has 3 full levels with ramps, hammies and
blankets. They mostly sleep on the 3rd level and their litter is on the
1st level with food and water. When they are out there is no problem they
go in the litter boxes in the room with rarely an accident or will return
to their cage to use the litter box on the first level. For awhile we
had them on shredded newspaper litter due to the one's prolapsed and sore
rectum and no messes. Then they were sleeping mostly on the 2nd level.
Then we switched to the Yesterday's News and they did really good with it,
no messes outside the box. Now all of a sudden they are sleeping on the
3rd level with pooping, peeing on 2nd on blankies and towels and a huge
mess on the first level. I don't know if they just can't make it all the
way down in time when they are caged or what. I don't understand why
all of a sudden though this is happening. We have thought about somehow
closing off the 3rd level but this would disrupt their routine. Does
anyone have any suggestions as to what we can do? They will not be free
roam for another few weeks due to the size and the other guys being
bigger.

Have a great day
Love & angel hugs
Debbie
