My ferrets like to store their food for a rainy day, too. Inevitably, I
have caches of dried chicken and fish in various corners of my house!

The chicken carcass is another matter though!! I don't relish the idea,
mess or smell of having that dragged around and stashed somewhere! But
I do want my ferrets to be ferrets. So, I have found myself letting
them have a go at the carcass whenever I have a roasted chicken, but
I put the three ferrets and the carcass in the bathtub and close the
sliding door. Even better than the carcass are the pan drippings - a
big hit and they jump right in the pan and waddle around in it (so far
they haven't rolled in it!!) Everything stays in the tub with them, they
can chew and tug and drag bones around as much as they like but at the
end of it, they and the tub are easy to clean... and they got to pretend
to be wild, ferocious, flesh-ripping ferrets!
