I saw the photo and read the article posted and decided the write the
author of that article. My question to her and response are below:

Hello Mr. Sonder,
It's fascinating that albino ferrets as well as albino minks look so
similar and you cannot tell from a photo. I've been assured by the
Forest Preserves that this is indeed an albino mink -- and I have found
instances of albino minks throughout the nation and in Scotland. I will
however let the Forest Preserves know your concern and appreciate your
taking the time to write to tme.

Subject: albino mink article

Hello Ms. Devore.
I read and saw with interest your article on the trapped and released
albino mink. At least from the photo it seemed to be a spitting image
of a domesticated albino ferret. Released into the wild this poor
little guy/gal will be dead within a few days as they cannot survive
in the wild.

It is my hope he/she can be picked up (again) and brought to a local
ferret shelter.
