Well, I too am relived to hear other ferrets go into a deep sleep!  My
Hamlet who has now passed, used to go into a "coma" state.  The first time
it happened I began to cry hysterically saying "hes dead!"  He finally came
around and looked at me like "geeze mom, why'd ya wake me up??"  Now I look
back on that day and laugh, he did it several times but that was the only
time I freaked.  From then on out I would pick him up and make him do funny
gestures (like scratching his head or pattycake) while he was sleeping and
he was none the wiser hehe
