>Jeb - Here's a suggestion for the fellow in NC -

Les -

Not all baby ferrets are finger shredders! Someone has not properly
socialized those kits -

I have a suggestion for you that can give you both alot more info on
ferrets as well as provide you the opportunity to obtain a ferret
who you can be sure will not put either you or your wife through a
similar experince!

There will be a FURO sanctioned ferret show in Reidsville, NC at the
Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center on Saturday November 16th from 9AM to
whenever in the evening. For information on the show, you can call
John Armshaw in Elon College, NC at 919-342-7748.

In addition to the ferrets being shown - there will be folks with
kits as well as adult ferrets available from various rescues. I
highly encourage a new owner to adopt an adult. You will have all of
the enjoyment and none of the work of training! And ferrets remain
playful throughout their lives.

If you can't make it to the show - I'm sure John can put you in
touch with a reputable breeder in the area. And good luck! If you
make it there ask around as several of the Genie folks will be
there, and possibly a few Internet folks as well.
