I wanted to thank everyone for their many cards and letters regarding my
loss of Lady Amber. The caring thoughts meant so much to me as I grieve the
unnecessary loss of life.

And a follow up regarding Foxy, my dog. After the situation with Lady
Amber, Foxy became quite aggressive. I took her to an animal behavioralist
and found out that once they have killed, it can change their personality
forever. Even crated, she'd lunge towards the ferrets to get to them. By
the end of the weekend, she was snapping at the cats, and today she jumped
on one of them, ready for battle. Louie can hold his own, but he ended up
at the vet to get stitches. She had bitten him in the neck 2x's before I
got her off! So, tonight I made the decision to put her down. I held her
as they injected her, and she went ever so quietly, to sleep. Abused as a
puppy, she'd never really had a chance to trust. I don't know if that was
part of the problem. I do know that I did a lot of work with her, that she
was much loved, and shared this home with not only my personal animals, but
at times, rescue animals that came and went. She never showed signs of
aggression until last week, and after she killed Lady Amber, she became a
different dog.

I grieve tonight for the two pets who have left this world. I will never
truly understand what happened, or why.

Thank you again for you kind thoughts!
Penny
