Me again...

First, thanks to everyone who sent notes of inspiration or condolence.
Ferret people truly are the best people out there! We are doing better,
but it is still hard to accept. Time, I guess, is the only healer.

So we lost Angus 8 days ago.  We had adopted Angus and Hillary together;
they weren't littermates, but they became roommates and friends. They
had their own room...that is, until Angus busted out and got killed.
Then we opened the door and let Hillary join our other two ferrets (who
are both free-roaming old men who do little besides sleep).

For five days, she was fine. She had been a biter when we brought her
home, but had almost abandoned those behaviors and was a sweet little
girl.

Suddenly, Monday night, she's very, very skittish. Runs when she sees
us coming, hears a noise, whatever. I have to sit very, very still and
be very, very patient if I want to pick her up, and even then, all she
wants to do is get away and hide.

This is completely unusual behavior for her. I don't know if Angus's
death has sunk in or what we're dealing with.

Any advice?
As always, THANK YOU!
Laura
