Hi Wolfy,

Here you go.

WELCOME HOME FAYE AND BANDIT

When we brought Faye, 1.8lbs. (who is our only deaf one), and Bandit,
2lbs. (a little snaggle toothed sable) home they fit right in with
Salem, 4lbs. (our first ferret). All three got along great. We
originally took Salem to visit with Juliana at Ferret Business of GA
with the intent of POSSIBLY getting ONE playmate for him. Well, Bandit
and he hooked up and Bandit followed him everywhere around the ferret
room. There were probably 15 or 20 ferrets loose and playing. We sat in
the middle of them watching the interactions and decided that Bandit was
the one. Actually there was little deciding as Bandit had already made
himself at home in the carrier and was fast asleep. While talking with
Benita and Juliana, Faye came up. She was a cute dark eyed white (I'm
not good with the different color definitions Benita help me out).
Patrick was playing with her and Juliana casually mentioned that she
might have problems placing her as she was deaf. That was that. Into
the carrier went all 3. As we're sitting finishing up the paperwork we
hear a horrendous scream from the carrier! All of us pounced on it
thinking somebody was being killed. I thought maybe Salem was getting
too rough (why I thought that considering he's the biggest laid back
teddy bear I've ever seen is beyond me.) Anyway we open the carrier and
everybody is fine. Hmm....ok. We'll watch them closely over the next
couple of days. No more problems. So we drive home.

Pyewacket (our 13lbs blued eyes catmonster) meets us at the door a little
perturbed at the absence of his friend and wondering just what the h*ll
we meant leaving him there by himself when Salem got to go riding. Pye
can be jealous like that, not that he likes to ride in the car, its the
principle of the thing. We set the carrier down and opened the door.
Pye sticks his head in and immediately backs out as out comes not one
(they only left with one) but 3 (where did the other two come from????)
ferrets come bounding out. Faye immediately spied Pyewacket and I swear
I saw the cartoon thought-bubble over her head......"that's got to be the
BIGGEST chew toy I've ever SEEN!!!! and its all MINE!" She immediately
took possession of Pyewacket as Bandit was shown around the apartment by
Salem. Pye wasn't sure what to make of this new found "friend" (Pye:
"Friend my *ss, no friend would do THAT to a friend's *ss!") Faye
followed him everywhere. Pye had never experienced the "speed bumping
stare of death" until Faye. To say it made him a little nervous is an
understatement!.

We finally discovered what the screaming was when we heard it again at
the condo a few days later. Faye and Salem had been playing and having
a grand ole time. They both scurried behind the sofa and the screaming
started. Patrick and I looked over the sofa to find Faye had Salem
penned down on his back screaming her lungs out at him. Poor Salem. He
fled for dear life closely being pursued by Faye. Thus begins the saga
of Faye the Deaf Banshee.
