Kathleen, maybe Petey The Pooped On, could go, turn tail, and poof on the
show. I'm kidding. I'm actually impressed that this show would do an
inspirational show about animals. That's so needed. There are so many
miraculous things out there, I'm going to have faith that they made the
right decisions. I'm going to watch that particular show now just to see
what other special animal stories our out there and finally given some
credit.

Kathy, I can't help it, I do have to agree with you in that I wish the
media would not be so narrow minded and focus so much attention on only
two species in this world ... dogs and cats. Even Animal Planet is so
darn narrow minded. There are too many other wondrous creatures out
there with so much to be gained from them. By not showing this, robs us
all of those experiences. And I agree with you in that I want to share
the inspirational story of Sean and Rocky to those who need education.
Those who don't have knowledge of ferrets, ferret shelters, and those
who have misconceptions about autistic children.

The neat thing about Sean and Rocky is that it's not just some mushy
or coincidental love thing that happened. Rocky came along and broke
through that wall they kept us from a sweet little boy. No human could
do it. No other animal could do it. Heck we couldn't even get Sean to
brush his teeth without his father restraining him until Rocky came along
and we showed Sean that even Rocky had to have his teeth brushed even if
it felt bad. For a lack of better terms ... Rocky was a tool that we
used to inch Sean down the road of a more normal social development.
Rocky is his outlet. Rocky is his best friend. Rocky is Sean's Rock.
The icing on the cake is that Rocky is the luckiest little animal on the
face of the earth. Never has a pet been more loved.

If you like hearing about unusual animal-human companionship and
relationships. I have some books to recommend to you. The Angel Animals
series. Now, yeah, Sean and Rocky as well as the FML's Jadesun's ferret
are in the second one (God's Messengers), but that is not why I recommend
it. I am not the author, only a contributor ... there is nothing to be
gained by recommending these books. I promise you. I just think they
are great books, with or without the ferret stories. I am honored that
the Andersons have given me the gift of "voice" in getting word out about
Sean and Rocky. Another really cool book is called "What Animals Teach
Us". It was written by a doctor, and I like it because it has a very
wide variety of animals in it. Hamsters, birds, everything. Lastly,
I've not read it yet and so I'm not sure how closely related this book
is, but I want to read Enslaved by Ducks.
http://www.enslavedbyducks.com/
for the book, and you can google Angel Animals for their neat network or
to read about the series of books).

Anyway, like I said, the unexpected thing that came out of all of this
was the absolute excitement I got our of just thinking about coming here
to the FML ... where this all started and to share it with you guys.
Our extended family.
