Today I got a call from my vet that someone had found a ferret and didn't
know what to do with it.We went and picked up a female MF in pretty sad
shape, very dehydrated, and very red skin on one side that the vet said was a
bruise.I mean it covers her whole right side.We brought her home after a
quick check up,gave her some fluids and called our local ferret
shelter. What with giardia here,we didn't want her to get that also.Has
anyone ever seen bright red skin, localized, and what did it turn out to be?
BTW,it's spreading.I heard from the shelter. The vet did a palpation of the
abdomen and she didn't even wince. Her temp was 100.4,and she weighed 1.75
lbs.Couldn't have been out for to long.Keep this poor lost soul in your
thoughts.

Thanks Todd, everything is so much clearer now. This also answers another
question I had about tire tracks by the litter bag.

Sandy and 4 healthy ( basically) at home ferrets

You don't stop laughing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop
laughing.
