Folks and furkids,

I have two males, and when I got the first, Trouble, he was always tired.
He even sat on my husband for long periods (ie: 20 minutes at a time)
without wanting to get down. The vet did his first exam, and I was told
that he might just be in a growth spurt, or he might be a laid-back
ferret. I used to run a health food store, and have anemia myself, so I
suspected the same thing. I found some KayTee treats specifically made
from beef that also contain iron. I started feeding him the 'recommended
amount,' about 20 treats, and waited to see if they helped.

The iron boost seems to have helped a lot. It took about two weeks to
make a real difference, but we saw signs of improvement in a few days.
He's frisky, and doesn't sit down for a ball game anymore. My husband
might prefer to have Trouble watch the game, but I would rather see him
live up to his name.

Hope it helps. It's a lot cheaper than blood work to find out that he IS
anemic.
