Amanda - where did you get Monty from?  Did he exhibit this night time
behavior before?  If not, was he caged with other ferrets?  Is there a
shelter nearby that can help you figure out what Monty's needs are?
 
Wishing you both luck.  My heart breaks for Monty that this is his 4th(?)
home and things aren't quite working out.  It sounds like you really care
for him, but it's a tough situation.
 
If you give him up please be sure he goes to an experienced forever home
with someone that can work with Monty on his behavior.
