After all this talk about dryer hoses I finally broke down
and went and bought 8 feet of it.  It was cheap enough.  I
hadn't in the past because I was concerned about Nina, my
5.5 year old rambuncious female who absolutely *must* chew
on everything!  I duct-taped the loose wire and made sure
there were no sharp edges.  And, as I expected, Nina *must*
chew on both the vinyl and the duct-tape.  She also chews
on the wire and I'm afraid she'll break a tooth!  If I spray
it with bitter apple, then my other kids won't play in it.
 
Any suggestions?  She even chews on aluminum foil!!
