Ok, the offical mail tally for the 7 weeks I was gone is about 751 emails.
I say about because my box crashed at least twice when it was overfilled,
once by overwealming numbers, and once by a sudden influx of photos. I have
been told the box bounced mail for about a week. Sorry. Its fixed now and
there should no longer be a problem.

I simply cannot answer all that mail, so, those who want to use something I
wrote, you have my permission. To those who just wanted to say hi, or thank
me for something, thanks and you are most welcome. As for the gobs of
letters asking questions, I will get to them as soon as possible, but unless
it is time-sensitive, don't expect it soon. I think I will only have time
to get the diet posts up before I start phase two of "Bob's Summer on the
Road" AKA "The Summer From Hell."

In about a week and a half I will drive to Knoxville, Tenn for about a week,
arriving for museum work that Monday. When finished, I'm off to Gainesville
FL for more of the same thing, stopping by some very patient people in
Georgia to drop off a few things. Then home to wait for Sam. When Sam
leaves, I will also, first a speedy trip through LA, Berkeley, then Portland
to give a lecture. Then its Seattle for a week or two, Edmonton, Calgary,
Bozeman, and Denver before home. Finally, my last trip will be to DC, up to
the American Museum for a day, the Peabody, then down to the Carnegie in PA.
Home, a short run to Lawrence, Kansas, and folks, thats it on the "Bob
Grant" until the NSF grant comes through. But thats next year.

Finally, for those that have asked, Tui (the new boy) is quite a handful,
but is now incorporated into the group. Took me 3 days. He is best friends
with Carbone, and the two wrestle for hours, with Carbone getting the best
of things...for now. Tui is almost 3 lbs and can jump straight in the air
about 2 feet. Carbone smirks at jumping, but at almost 5 lbs just waits
until Tui hits the floor and flattens him. Elizabeth has been calling them
"Yin 'n Yang" because Carbone is as black as Tui is cream and when they
wrestle... well, you get the picture.

Tui did not like his rabies shot at all, and wimpered for several minutes.
He has this uncanny ability to dislocate his head to be able to bite people,
regardless of the way you are holding him. Somehow he can hook that single
tooth on the tip of your little finger. Amazing! Oh yeah, Sam said Tui is
a type of bird on New Zealand as well as a type of beer. Well, all I can
say after cleaning my car is, she better bring a bottle of Tui with her!
Now all I need is a ferret named "Put." Think about it.
