Yes, toxoplasmosis ( a protozoal disease) can be RARELY RARELY seen in
ferrets, as in cats, and ferrets can shed infective oocysts in feces for a
very short time.  Acutally, your chances of contracting toxo in this way is
far less than if you eat rare steak (I hope they've told you to eat
well-done steak during your pregnancy, if you're a meat-eater.)
 
Anyway, becuase toxo infection can cause major birth defects, having your
husband empty the litters is a quick and easy fix.....
