I know I might be a little late for this but here are my 2 gentle cents.
I have been rescuing cats, dogs and ferrets for a lot of years now. I
have shared alot of those years with my 2 now elderly Rottweilers. My paid
work is at a counselling centre for women who have lived sexual violence
and other abuses.

My point is lets not put the attention on attacks by other animals when
they are minimul when compared to the violence that is done daily by other
humans and in numbers so great that they can not be counted. That is the
violence that is not persecuted enough and overlooked. I know we are
talking about our companion pets but any animal can bite or scratch what
we do with our hands and voice they do with their mouths and paws. It's
the sensationalism that surrounds it that makes it an issue. It's always
a tragedy when it happens and yes most of the time it could of been
prevented. Why compare this to dogs when humans are the most violent and
commit the most violent acts against animals and humans? Why has'nt anyone
done the stats on that yet? I would love to see those numbers in
comparison.

I'm not looking for replies really. Maybe we could all think about this
for a minute and hope that all turns out well for all involved. I have
lived too long with misconceptions of animal behaviours, myths and lack of
education that ends up with hatred and euthanasia of many animals because
of human fault.

I guess what I'm saying is lets fight this battle but lets find another
way. Please.

Not angry, just tired of the pain right now.

Francesca
