I have 2 female ferrets who were spayed/descented and don't have the
tattoos to show for. One is from Path Valley Farm and we are not sure
were the other is from. We "rescued" her from a "petsore" (not pet store)
that is no longer in business (thank god). We are not even sure how old
she is. These people (I won't say the store name) didn't know jack about
ferrets, were feeding her bad quality "dry" cat food, and kept all the
animals in a small dirty room. Anyway, my guess is that she was from a
private breeder (she had no papers either).

I've gone through 2 surgeries, and both times my babies have been
allowed to play (well, it is more being around than playing) with their
brother/sisters the next or even sleep together the same night. I think
this makes them feel better. Otherwise they feel bad from the surgery,
and isolated from the others.

>last question is this, does any body know of a ferret diet,my baby zoe

How old is she? Is the extra weight making her less active? One of my
little girls weighted 2lbs at 6 months (just a little less than my 4 year
old male but more than her 2 older sisters), but she was the most active
one. Anyway, I personally don't think there is a problem with her weight
being 4 lbs if her activity level is the same as that of the others, but
I'm not a vet. (My vet has never shown any concerns about her being
overweight, although I must say that she has a lot of muscular mass).
