My ferret Jasper has had an allergic reaction to the "approved" ferret
(feline) distemper vaccine, 3 out of the past four years. These reactione
happen even when the injection is preceeded with one which is Benadryl. As
a result we have decided to no longer vaccinate him.

My question surrounds my other two ferrets, Coconut and Chunkey. They have
been vaccinated every year without a reaction. Being that this virus is
airborne, if Coconut and Chunkey are exposed to the virus, without having
direct contact with an infected animal, can they carry the virus and
transmit it to Jasper.

Does anyone have the answer or something that may help?

Thank you,
Heather
