Hi. Haven't written in a while, but there are still names here I recognize
and probably vice versa.

I had my youngest ferret put to sleep last week. She suffered from dilated
cardiomyopathy, and declined very rapidly from the point of diagnosis and
beginning medication, to the point where some three weeks later it was
kindest to have her euthanized. I'd like to thank Dr. Deborah Allen for
her kindness and sympathy.

Easel will be missed; she was happy, silly, and quirky like every member
of her species. I probably should never have acquired a fourth ferret, but
she, more than all my other pets, had the ability to remind me of how
simple things could be full of fun and joy, and I never regretted owning
her. I do regret that her life had to end so soon and unhappily. I'm
sorry, little gimp ferret.

Melissa
