    No probably not.  We feed a mixture of five different premium cat foods
to our guys (although as they get older, we switch to lower protein levels.
We have the same problem with our dog's food.  Often, is the thrill of the
chase, the "grass is always greener", etc.  which makes the food of the
other household animals so attractive to ferrets.  I would still provide the
MF food free choice to them...
