My pet rats also did the "weird swaying thing" with mine it precipitated
going to the bathroom, it was very strange but when she did it I always put
her back in the cage, she would go right away.

I have seen my ferts do it on occasion as well but I have never seen the
same actions afterwards twice so I don't know what it could mean. I think
maybe they are trying to hypnotize us "give us raisins, raisin soaked in
ferretone"

My two fuzzbutts have become increasingly free range over time.

They are only caged at night now. They have free run of the livingroom
and kitchen. They do see the cage as home because it is still where the
majority of sleeping and pooping takes place.

And for my laugh of the day My fiance stayed over for a couple of days with
her Guinea Pigs, we cape a cage for them at my place stored for when they
travel. Bob was having a big war dance fit with me chasing him. The chase
stopped right in front of the cage with both pigs looking intently at the
action.

Bob chose that peaceful moment to turn and look at the pigs. Once he
realized he was being watched he went right back into his war dance as
sent the pigs fleeing under their blankets, what a laugh it was.
