Hi to all on the FML.  I mostly lurk and cram my brain with all the
wonderful advice and information, funny stories, wit, humour and indeed
heart-break that I read every day on the list.  However, tomorrow, my
latest rescue Snoopy is going to be neutered, silly though it is, I am
filled with trepidation for him as he is so shy and gentle and the thought
of leaving him for the day to go through his operation amongst strangers
(however good) makes me feel guilty and anxious.  Snoopy was found living
in the wild here in Jersey in the Channel Islands where pet ferrets are
rare.  He had a little jill with him who I named Toffee and she will be
spayed next (on jill-jabs at present).When they arrived with me both were
very ill and almost died, they suffered daily car trips to the vet for a
week of injections and I fed them fluids gently with a syringe.  Both were
found to have congenital murmurs, but both rallied with lots of loving care
and really are so very gentle and neither has even nipped!  Environmental
services who first picked them up very kindly paid the vet bill which
helped enormously as I have four other ferrets, cats and rabbits.
 
I am worried about his heart murmur and the anaesthetic although I trust
my vet fully, it does not take away the angst!  Anyway, I will take him in
tomorrow at 8am and then I have to go to work.  Please keep little Snoopy
in your thoughts and prayers, I know you'll understand!
