No offense to anyone on the FML because there are a LOT of knowledgeable
people here, but it seems to me that a ferret that has lost over 1/3 of it's
body weight is not a medical condition that should wait for a guestimated
opinion from someone hundreds or thousands of miles away.  You didn't
mention that you had taken him to a vet.  I hope that was just an omission
in your message!!
