I was holding Chance this morning and PHEW!  his ears stunk!  So I
decided it was time for his least favorite ferret cleansing.
 
Squiggle, squirm, shake, he did everything in his power to keep me from
cleaning them... but then, I got the odd idea to *show* him what I was
getting out of his ears.  The minute he saw the funky colored q-tip, he
stoped everything.  Just laid there and let me continue my work.  If I
forgot to show him the tip before I tossed it, he got grumpy again.
 
I think they know more than they let us think they do!!
 
Also!  Stinky (the roommates ferret) came up to me and pawed my foot
(he's decided this is how he's going to get my attention from now on..
paw... wait.... paw... wait...) and looked at my door.  I got up and
said 'What?' He then walked out the door and over to his cage, where
he stood outside, looked at me, looked at his cage, then looked at my
roommates bedroom door.
 
"Ok, I'll tell him it's time to give your cage a scrubbin."  In his
cage he went, and then he stood waiting for me to close the door.
 
Now, you ask, WHY does he wait for me to close the door?  So he can eat
in peace!  Every time he tries to go do something on his own (eat, sleep,
whatever), Chance has to follow him and try to get him to play.  So once
his door is closed, he starts on his eat and drink.  I then go write a
note for my roommate, and on a whim, take it back to Stinky for his
aproval.  I am not, i repeat I am *NOT* making this up.  He looked at
the note, moved his head from left to right two times (for there were 2
lines on the paper), looked at me, and went back to eating.  I guess he
aproved! :)
 
Amazing little guys... teach you something new every day!
