Wheezing can be a symptom of anything from a hairball to an upper
respiratory infection to bronchitus to cardiomyopathy to Aluetians Disease.
All are treatable, most are curable and a vet visit shouldn't be delayed.

In the meantime, you can give a hair ball laxative. It can't hurt, and if
it is a hairball, can only help.

Best wishes!

Anne
