Dear Ferret Folks-

I thought you were JOKING this morning when I started getting e-mails
in my inbox about hagfish fancier fanclubs on Facebook. But I followed
the links, and lo and behold....

OK. I apologize to the hagfish fanciers of the world about their
bizarre, twisted admiration for a primitive lamprey like thing that
looks like an inner tube, has whiskers, and horrifies its enemies by
tying itself in a knot and emmiting quarts and quarts of viscous slime
when threatened.

I will *not* apologizie for suggesting that hagfish are much more
attractive than limber, oily, Belgian "Action Hero" Jean-Claude Van
Damme. I bet he can tie his legs together in a knot over his head. I
hope he sticks that way, just the way his grandmother warned him when
he was a kid.
