I am very concerned about my ferret, Casey. She was the first pet I ever
owned and I love her dearly. She has adrenal disease but she hasn't had
surgery yet. We recently moved and my vet thought it would be better to
wait until after the stress of the move. She also wanted me to get her
vaccinations up to date first (she's due for them now). So, now that we
are settled in I am planning on getting her vaccinated and then bring her
for surgery. She is acting fine except she sleeps more and isn't quite
the same happy ferret. She's more independent.

Anyway, the problem is that last night I noticed that she had these weird
"lines" of skin that went from her knee up her stomach. One on each side
of her belly. They looked like loose skin but in the shape of a "tube".
My husband thought maybe she was dehydrated so I let her drink water from a
cup (she drank a lot) and a little while later they disappeared. But they
are there again today and I can't get her to drink enough water. I'm
worried about her. She still acts fine and now she's sleeping and I can
see the same "skin tubes" under her arms. I don't know what to do.

Unfortunately, I'm pregnant and due any day so I'm afraid that I won't be
able to provide continuous care for her if I have to go to the hospital
myself. I'll do what I can though and I would like to know if this is
dehydration and what is causing it. I will try to take her to the vet
soon but my favorite vet isn't close enough to go to.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks.

Adrienne (Casey, LouLou, Misty)
