He's dreaming.  I can recall holding Felix on my lap while he was asleep and
sprawled out, watching his front legs make "walking" motions, followed by
him making clear "lapping up water" motions with his pink likker-item.
Clearly, he dreamed of walking over someplace and drinking.
 
Yours had a dream involving socks, probably.
