Hello friends,

We now have an update on the attempt we are making to move where we can
have our kids with us again. If you remember, back in April I wrote you
with the distressing news that the management company of our apartments
had decided I could not longer have my doctor-approved therapy animals
(my ferrets) in one of their apartments, because it just didn't seem fair
to all the other residents (after two years of letting them live here
with the complex owner's permission). We have found a home loan program
through the USDA Rural Development division that may allow us to purchase
our own property and receive house payment assistance. We are currently
making preparations to apply and making sure we completely qualify.

As for the kids currently boarded at Dook-N-Dance ferret rescue here
in NC, we have some distressing news. Niki has been diagnosed with
Insulanoma; when she had her blood sugar tested on Thursday, it
registered at 51 instead of near 90. She will now be on Pred every day.
Pirate had his teeth cleaned on Thursday as well; thanks to all who
helped raise some of the funds for that surgery through purchases at our
eBay store, Turn Back the Clock DVDs. The teeth cleaning and blood work
went o'kay, but he is beginning to show two possible signs of Adrenal:
leaking urine and thick neck scruff. Please pray for both these ferrets
now hitting six years old.

The store is doing rather poorly right now. We have decided to try and
sell off all our inventory until we can move and rethink our selling
strategies - We just can't seem to compete anymore with local chain
stores or wholesell dealers anymore. Believe it or not, we aren't even
a profit with buy it now prices starting at $1.50 for new DVDs, but some
money is money we didn't have before. We've got to have money to move,
take care of the critters and fulfill any parts of the loan agreement we
are applying for that may require down-payments. Please visit the store
if you have some cash to spare; we ship worldwide.

Thanks again for all your kind words of encouragement and financial help!

Your friends,
Lori and Rat's Brats
(Lance, Merlin, Nikita, Pirate and Sandy)
