Hmph. I'm envious.

Obviously the little ones in our home don't know about the winter
sluggishness or allowing their caretaker to sleep till sunrise rules.
Starting at about 4am, sometimes 3:30am, there is always one little
munchkin that gets up and systematically goes room to room trying to
find someone to play with. It starts with a far off squeal of
disapproval, then silence, then a little closer squeal of disapproval,
silence, closer squeal, silence, closer squeal, silence, squeal,
silence, then comes the pitter patter of little paws walking up the
ramp to the bed, then looking in my face to see if I am awake, then
under the covers to see if my feet are awake... no matter how tightly
I wrap the covers around my body like a burrito or clamp the pillow
over my head, they always find a spot to sneak in. sigh. Why do I try
to go back to sleep after this rude arousal? Hope. Hope springs eternal
in the land of fantasy....

So my day starts early and as soon as I'm up shuffling through the
house to the kitchen, furry faces appear, some sleepy, some wide awake
(obviously they were awaken by the squeals of disapproval too) and
the house quickly starts hopping. Ferrets abound from the rooms, some
sauntering in for a plate of recipe (which BTW they are eating by the
gallons, literally), others to find a morning playmate. Two+ hours
later as I'm ready to leave for work they are still bounding around
the house, chasing, wrestling, lapping up the last drops of recipe.
Thank goodness for working away from home....

Would someone PLEASE tell my group the rules on winter sluggishness
and letting the caretaker sleep till daylight?!

Happy holidays to all. tle
