I'm just a pharmacist so I don't know for sure, but, I had a miature
pinscher as a child who had chronic ear mites and had to be put down because
the vet said that they had gone to his brain.
 
Remember I was only 17 at the time and that was a looong time ago, but, it
stuck in my brain.
