Hello All,

First of all, I was greatly saddened to hear of the losses experienced
recently. I don't know the details, since I've missed the last few issues
(my fault, deleted accidentally), but my heart goes out to evreyone involved.

I also seem to have missed (yet another) discussion of introducing a new
ferret. Forgive me if I repeat something which was recently asked, but I
do have a few questions...

We brought a new baby home yesterday, a platinum jill a little over a year
old. Her temperament is just great, and she is tiny--only a pound. The
thing is--and this would be hysterical if I was sure he would get over it--
my chocolate male (2.5 lbs) is terrified of her !!! He has the run of the
apartment while she is cages, but our attempts to acquaint them have only
resulted in his hissing, squealing loudly, and fleeing in abject terror. He
is, as the breeder said, in a ROYAL SNIT.

I think that after he has some time to get used to her smell and having
another ferret around, he will be fine. I bought her as company for him,
so I certainly hope so! anyhow, if anyone has any pointers for helping
the process along, I would appreciate it. She, by the way, has grown up
with tons of other ferrets and has no problem at all with him. Thanks to all
ofor any replies.
