Hi folks! This is my first post to the list, although I've been reading
it for several weeks now. I'm not owned by any ferrets at the moment,
but will be adopting two kits (three-month olds, brother and sister) around
the end of the month. I'm located in Montana and ferrets don't seem to be
popular here, so I went out of state to adopt. I've been researching and
reading tons of stuff for months now and feel as prepared as one can. My
SO has started building a cage which is approx. 7' high, 4' across, and 2'
deep. I work at home, so I'm home all day but wanted them to have a big
cage to play in when I am working at the computer and can't watch them...
of course I plan on spending lots of time loving them and playing with them
outside the cage. Otherwise what's the point?...I should have gotten a
goldfish.

Anyway, the main reason I am posting is I'm wondering if anybody caught the
Petline show on Animal Planet yesterday morning. They had a woman (sorry
but I can't remember who or where she was from) who brought two ferrets on
the show and she was fantastic. It was very informative to would-be ferret
owners and everything was, to the best of my knowledge, factual, from
everything I've read and learned. One of the ferrets was giving an ear
bath to the host and kissing his nose. A couple of times the woman
stressed how they are not wild animals. She explained ferret history, also
the responsibility of the owner, pros and cons, etc.

I was surprised when I read the list this morning that there was no mention
of the show, unless I missed it, as I only skimmed the headlines.

I'm sure I'll be posting again in the future with questions, and hopefully
someday to help others when I'm as knowledgeable as you folks.

Til next time, take care...
Kathy
