Ferrets are carnivores which means they need a high protein and high
fat diet. They also need a low fiber and low carbohydrate diet. Their
treats should also be high protein, high fat, low fiber and low
carbohydrate. Therefore fruit, nuts, cerals are out. Baby food (second
stage chicken or turkey), Hill's a/d and Oxbow's carnivore care make
great treats. Likewise cooked eggs and cooked meats make great treats.

Hope that helps,
Jerry Murray, DVM
