First why are you so anxious to ignore Diane's contributions? Every time
we see "Mr. Killian" in the FML we know she is to be slighted for her
strong contributions and he is about to be contradicted or slammed. So
many people do that that poor diane gets forgotten. She deserves more of
the credit. She has actually talked to people at shows, and then at the
next show the same people tell her that they talked to bill! We are a
partnership in this ferret thing. Its really almost funny.

But back on track... always contradictions for me but history might tell a
different story that backs us up as usual.

But we're sorry if you felt you deserved "former" tagged on to your LOS
affiliation. LOS and LIFE are very intertwined, that isn't necessarily a
bad thing, nor a good thing; just the way things are. But we will from now
on refer to you as LIFE president and formerly affiliated with LOS-NJ if
you prefer.

We don't mind being corrected, but if you do so be accurate if its about
facts instead of opinions.

Effectively what you are saying is that LIFE judges get *paid* as well as
independant and AFA licensed show judges. Its just enough to not spend too
much money for the priviledge of judging. Its pretty nominal alright. In
a single day at the office, bill earns more than we both get judging all
shows we do in a year - a funny little blip on the 1040. The paid time
lost on Friday by bill was more than the reimbursement check.

BUT that we judges get paid/reimbursed still makes us the only ones paid
(call it a per diem if you like its still money and for the exact same
reason) to go to shows. It makes us the professionals so we have a
responsibilty to act like professionals.

Sanctioning organizations neither pay nor reimburse. Sponsoring clubs or
organizations often do. The two organizations can be the same as in the
case of the AFA's Ferret Expo but its still as the sponsoring organization
that the judges get reimbursed/paid.

The GCFA has generously defrayed a portion of the costs of our trips out to
judge when it was independant and since it chose AFA sanctioning. We can
not vouch for the time when it used LIFE sanctioning as bill did not judge
there at that time. The Baltimore Club which like the GCFA was a founding
member of LIFE traditionally pays/reimburses judges as well. Same with
LAFF. Only founding member of LIFE that didn't go independant is WNYFLFA
but they aren't exactly having shows every year. Bill has judged at all
of these shows except the show-dormant WNYFLFA.

Some of the judges used at the independant shows at shows where we know
judge's were paid/re-imbursed have indeed been *LIFE* judges and they
were not slighted in favor of the *non-LIFE* judges.

And we have no reason to believe that they started the pay/reimbusement
policies *after* dropping LIFE affiliation and thus LIFE sanctioning.

And to ammend, most specialty ring judges are not paid per ferret though
some shows do pay some expenses. Not usually as much but then its not
nearly as many ferrets to judge for most specialty judges and more
different judges are required.

diane and bill - really look, there are two of us...
