One of my ferrets, Teddy, was just diagnosed with a fibroma in his left
shoulder. It has engulfed his whole nerve in the leg and to remove it
would mean amputation. The biopsy came back negative, thank God.

What I would like to know is if anyone else out there has had this happen
to their ferret and what the outlook, etc was on their life. So far no
problems getting around. My vet said she does not know if down the road
it can or may turn cancerous or that a ferret can live with or get around
on 3 legs especially a front one amputated. For now I will love Teddy
day to day, but want to know if there is anything out there that may help
him also.

I don't understand because I tried to do everything right with Teddy.
Teddy is only 3 1/2 years old, came from a private breeder, was brought
up on chicken gravy. I waited till he was 8 months old to get him
neutered. I kept his "stinker" in. He is even starting to show adrenal
signs, has insolinoma, (and has gingervitis) for which he is going to
have surgery for, but we wanted to wait until the shoulder biopsy came
back.
