Due to the sever storms in the Northeastern United States. Ferret Friends
Disaster Response International is on "Disaster Alert" status. Reports from
New York ferret people, Philidelphia Ferret People, New Jersey Ferret People
indicate a state of Emergency has been declared. National Guard has been
called out in New York City, Staten Island, NY and in New Jersey.

If you are in one of the above listed areas or are being effected by this
storm - please call you local ferret Club and/or shelter to let them know
that you are O.K. If you know of someone that is in dire need of assistance
please let us know as soon as possible. We will need: Their Name, Where
they are, number of animal affected, what is needed and most important
address where emergency supplies (if needed should be sent).

This is a serious storm folks - ferrets should be inside. Watch those space
heaters (they have been know to cause fires), If you live in an all electric
home: fill you bathtub with water (your pipes may freeze). Extra blankies
in your ferrets cage. If you experience a power outage - bundle up under
the covers - take your ferrets with you (O.K. stop laughing) they will stay
with you under the covers because of the cold. Do not go out and drive your
vehicle in the storm! Notify your local Ferret Club/Shelter of who you are
and where you are - check back in with them after the storm to let them know
your status.

Keep Warm, Keep Safe
