Just something funny I came across while flipping through my encyclopedia
from 1975 (it was $5 for the whole set at a garage sale, gimme a break!)
 
"FERRET: common name for a small weasel, related to the polecat...Even
when born in captivity the ferret shows no affection for a master.  It
has been known to attack infants, and will kill poultry in great numbers,
drinking the blood of the fowl it cannot eat..."
 
Yeah, they're real vicious monsters....
