I haven't been posting on here in a very long time due to me getting
privately bashed for trying to help someone one here several months ago,
but I had to post something to Valerie after seeing all the crap that
has been on her about her.

I don't know you from a hole in the wall, but from everything I have ever
read on here, you couldn't care any more about your ferrets if you tried.
I think it is great that at your age you are trying to be so responsible.
You wanted to serve your country, and do the responsible thing for your
ferrets at the same time.  You spent time researching how to go about
surrendering your ferrets to a new home.  You asked questions.  You had
questions prepared ahead of time for the new owners.  Then when
everything fell through, you responsibly sought advice on Buckie and what
the best thing for him would be since he wasn't adjusting to the new
family.  From everything I have ever read of your posts, I have never
once seen you want to do what was best for you, but always what is best
for your ferrets.  I think it is too bad that so many have to put in
their negative 2 cents when they don't have all the facts.  Everyone is
going to have an opinion...that I have learned here.  Unfortunately, many
opinions come from those who don't read every post, or go by other posts
that have incorrect information.  I have a lot of respect for you and the
way you have only done what is best for your ferrets.  I wish you well in
college in the fall.  I think whatever you decide to do you will think it
through and then do it well.  Good luck.
