This being the first spring that I've had ferrets I'm at a loss as to what
to expect from ferrets...but it seemss that mine are demanding twice the
turnout time they'd wanted the week before. In the evening I turn them
loose at 6:30-7:00 and leave them out until they either go back into the
cage to sleep or into one of my desk drawers. Since they get turned out
for an hour before I go to work, usually an hour to an hour and a half was
enough. Now they go to bed when I got to bed--and Shiloh is usually still
going strong.

The hyper activity started after Amadeus had been on Bob Church's gravy
(missing a couple of ingredients because I was "winging" it at the time)
and Shiloh a day or two (she's a picky eater and it took me awhile to
convince her it was good stuff). I don't know whether to blame Bob's
great recipe or spring for this manic behavior.

I seem to remember reading that that if ferrets play "speedbump" it could
be a sign of insulinoma. What is confusing is that it occurred the day
after number days of being on overdrive.

Shiloh is due for her yearly physical around the 24th of this month and
would like to know if I should make a vet appointment immediately, watch
her to see if they were just tired from the previous days' activity, or
mention it to my ferret friendly vet when I see him.

Isolated FLO activities continue to keep me on my toes...

Tess (Geeze, when I lay around you don't worry about me!)
Shiloh (Mom, I just wanna' see if I can get under the carpet w/o showing)
Amadeus (Nah, let's move the whole rug into the sun room!)
