We ended where Snowflake had gone to the edge of the dark forest with the
black kitty. Lynda Galloway handed the story to Chris Matlick. Chris

Now Snowflake had been warned not to enter this forest, but she was a
ferret and this kitty seemed nice, so without a thought she loped in
dooking and chattering all the way. Soon they were in the dense trees
and little light filtered through the canopy. "Hey! Where's that
raisin tree you promised? Huh? Huh? Huh?"

"Oh, we've just a little further to go."

Over the crest of a hill Snowflake heard a great rumbling. It sounded
somewhat familiar, but she couldn't quite place it, especially not with
thoughts of raisins running through her head. Louder and louder the
rumbling grew until Snowflake was able to discern 8 black kitties sitting
in a circle purring. In the middle of their circle was the raisin tree.

Boing Boing Boing went Snowflake, thinking of all the delicious raisins
she would eat....

A distant familiar rumbling, Snowflake did hear. Ah, but the sight of
that Raisin Tree, made Snowflake, too soon forget, the...all too familiar
sounds of purring kitties, all black, sitting in a circle around that
Raisin Tree, so ripe with plump juicy raisins, just waiting for her to
come taste and delight in their sweetness.

Behind her stood, black kitty, with golden slits for eyes, that were
not so friendly looking, just standing there watching Snowflake with
intenseness, so keen, silently coaxing her to move forward, closer and
closer to that rumbling group, stay focused on the raisin tree, you could
hear her purr.... don't pay any attention to the kitties surrounding
it...

Go, ahead, Snowflake you could see kitty mouth, silently, "partake of the
raisin tree, if you dare....

Donna handed off to Laurel Dittman. Laurel wrote:

Snowflake, with the natural inquisitiveness of a ferret, pushed aside
that faint warning voice, the voice that all ferrets choose to ignore.
Instead, she concentrated on the strange kitty's purringly seductive
message. Why, everyone knew that kitties didn't like raisins so this
tree must have been put here for little ferrets like her to enjoy. Why
should she fear something that only offered her a chance of happiness?

Her little paws reached up eagerly for the plumpest of the raisins when
suddenly as her paw made contact with the raisin......

To be comtinued!!
