Sandy:My little girl, Mandy, Left for the bridge yesterday.  She was only
with us 5 months but we miss her terribly.  Could you keep a look out for
her and tet we send our love.......Thanks
 
I wrote and posted a poem here once before, but this hurt worse because
this was my little Mandy.
 
   Mandy
 
Mandy was a ferret,
our little girl of fur.
Sit right back and read these words,
and I'll tell you all of her.
 
She was a very active girl,
she often ran amuck.
She'd stick her nose in every crack,
and sometimes got it stuck.
 
She would let out a great big dook,
and dance across the floor.
Then she'd pounce upon a plastic sack,
and dook and dance some more.
 
She was a really funny girl,
a really silly fert.
She'd do some really crazy thing
that made us laugh untill it hurt.
 
One day she came down very sick,
she really was quite bad.
To see our Mandy lying there
made us very sad.
 
My wife and I would stay up late
to make sure that she was fed.
Only when she went to sleep
we would go to bed.
 
It wasn't long untill we knew
that death was very near.
We spoke to her, and stroked her fur,
and shed a many tear.
 
We told her about the Rainbow Bridge,
where wonderous flowers bloom.
Where all pets go to jump and play,
and she would go there soon.
 
My wife or I would always be near
the little bed she lay upon.
reasuring her there was no need to fear
her pain would not be long.
 
Soon she took her final breath,
our little girl was gone.
Then we turned to each other,
a shoulder to cry upon.
 
I apoligize dear readers,
if I made you cry.
I had to tell you of our little girl,
and the day we said good-bye.
